Ron Perepolkin, Community Economic Development Coordinator & IT Specialist

Since 1998, Ron has held the positions of Community Economic Development Coordinator and Information Technology specialist at Community Futures Greater Trail.  In the picture above he can be seen showcasing the tools and technology he procured for the grand opening of the MIDAS Fab Lab (Now STAC) to local media and dignitaries.

Ron plays a vital role in the delivery of Community Futures services. His main role is conceiving, leading and participating in projects and initiatives that help improve the South Kootenay economy. He played a major role on improvement projects like the KBRH Heliport, Trail Regional Airport Improvements, Waneta Industrial Park water supply, and downtown Trail Fibre Broadband.  Internally he manages Community Future’s business incubator, the South Kootenay Business Centre, and our South Kootenay Data Centre.  This past year he created the Business Disaster Action Plan website BizDAP.ca and  initiated and Chairs the Downtown Trail Improvement Committee.

For the past 25 years, Ron’s passion, experience, dedication, and exceptional grant writing skills have been invaluable in creating economic growth opportunities for the Greater Trail region. He created the tourism website WeSportFish.com to attract visitors from around the world, and is now thrilled to announce the launch of Beyond the River, stick-it contest, a buy local/tourism initiative that will be unveiled on April 1, 2023.  Stay tuned for more details on our social media channels and tune in to Bounce Radio to learn more about this latest exciting project.

During his free time, Ron describes himself as a maker and technology enthusiast. He enjoys electronics, 3D CAD, 3D printing, microcontroller programming, graphic design, web design, astronomy, and others. He also enjoys more conventional activates such as gardening, woodworking, mechanics, paddle boarding and cruising the neighborhood on his electric skateboard.
